    Jaco Barnard-Naudé is an NRF rated researcher, a recipient of the UCT Fellows' Award, the Grotius Medal, the Santam Prize for Economics and the Gauteng Law Council Prize. He completed a doctorate in critical legal theory with specific focus on adjudication in the South African law of contract in transformation. His research interests include postmodern and poststructural legal theory, law & sexuality, post-Apartheid jurisprudence and law & Literature.
    In 2012 he will be lecturing Jurisprudence, Human Rights and Private Law as well as Foundations of South African Law.
    Prof. Barnard-Naudé is an honorary fellow at Birkbeck Institute for Humanities, University of London and has spent time on research fellowships at the Max Planck Institute for Private International Law in Hamburg, Germany and the School of Law, Birkbeck College, University of London.
